Welcome to Ascension Island Fishing & Spearfishing Charters
Fishing Acension Island
Ascension Island Fishing Charters or (AIFC) is a new company, established in 2012. AIFC is owned and run by Colin Chester, a fanatical fisherman and spearfisherman, originally from South Africa. He has been fishing the warm, unspoiled waters off ASI for the last 8 years and is an accomplished blue water specialist.
Ascension is one of the most unique places you will ever visit. The crystal clean waters surounding this Island have some of the worlds largest gamefish. From 1000lb+ Marlin to the humble Rock Hind (Groupa) which are only too keen to hop on a hook or come in for a look. Ascension also has huge numbers of Wahoo, Tuna (both Yellow Fin and Big Eye), Dorado, Horse Eye Jacks, Black Jacks, Amberjack, Almaco Jacks, Atlantic Sailfish, White Marlin, Spearfish, Oilfish, Tiger sharks, Gallapagos sharks, Thresher's six gill sharks, Hammerheads, Rainbow Runner, Dog Snapper, Blue sharks, Mako's and the rarely fished for Broad Bill Swordfish.
The island is the jurassic park of the mid atlantic. The fish here are huge and there have been numerous world records taken on this little known island. The 200 mile exclusion zone around ASI has ensured that the waters here are virtualy untouched by commercial fishing and we hope to keep it this way.
We cater for small groups of sportfishermen as well as spearfishermen who seek to select and catch prize blue water species in this pristine unspoiled location.
Hope to see you soon!
